Reno

  • 56,200 miles
My 2007 Suzuki Reno only have around 56000 miles and it started to shake while putting it on reverse gear. Don't move sometime after putting it on drive and make loud noise as I try to accelerate, engine light is on since July 2nd and these issues started from that time. I took it to a local O'reilly to check engine light code and they said its a transmission related code.

When attempting to shift the vehicle from park to reverse or drive there will be a loud clunk sound. The check engine light will come on and the vehicle will not accelerate. If you shut the vehicle off and then restart, it will then accelerate but will not shift properly. I had the vehicle to ken pollock Suzuki dealership in Pennsylvania when it was still covered under warranty and they charged me $100 dollars to run a diagnostic code scan. They said that they could not find the problem but when asked to explain the codes that were retrieved, I was informed that they were generic transmission codes and that they would not or could not fix the vehicle. This is a ongoing problem and a severe safety concern considering the amount of complaints logged against this model vehicle.

I have a 2007 Suzuki Reno. This vehicle has gone through five (5) transmission rage sensors since I bought it new in November, 2006. Started having problems within two months. Dealership in rock hill, SC had already shut down and doors were padlocked. Have paid a lot of money to have this same sensor changed five times. Why has Suzuki not recalled this vehicle to correct the transmission problem"? why has the NHTSA done nothing for all of these complaints about the same issue" my car "shifts" into neutral going down highway causing loss of power and acceleration without notice; then check engine light comes on. It is very unnerving and unsafe!!! please do something!!

I own 2007 Suzuki Reno since this year. Car was running good now its has 85600 miles on it approximately. I haven't had any issue but since last six month, my transmission range sensor causing lots of problem I already spent $350 for repair but now I replaced it second time. When I search online and go to Suzuki forum I see lots of owner of Suzuki having same issue that I am having. Below is the link where you can see so many people already having same issue that I am having. I need your help to resolve this issue with the company. If Suzuki can install original parts that would be fine. I have already spent lots of money for this specific issue.

Engine light comes on and goes off. Car has problems starting: Sometimes it starts in park, sometimes it will only start in neutral, other times I have to go through all the gears and go back to neutral. Transmission range sensor seems to be problem from my online research.

I was driving my 2007 Suzuki Reno on the highway on my way to work when the car started to slow down despite me trying to give it gas, and the check engine light appeared. I pulled over and put the car in park and turned it off for a moment. I turned the car back on and the check engine light remained on. When trying to shift back into drive, my car jolted and an X appeared over the D where the gears are located. Frightened, I turned the car off again and called the dealership, who told me to bring it in. They explained it was the transmission range sensor and fixed it free of charge because it was under warranty. 3 years 2 months later the exact same thing happened again, luckily I was not driving this time only trying to shift into drive when an X appeared over the D again. I took it to a different Suzuki dealer who explained that because it was outside the transmission it is not covered under warranty I would need to pay for the repair. No explanation was given as to why this was happening again. Now here we are exactly 4 months later to the day and the same thing happened again while I was driving. I called the dealership and they said they will repair it for free because they only repaired it months ago, but still no explanation as to what the problem is. I now see I am not the only one having this issue with this vehicle, and was told by a mechanic, that part of this car is defective. I am livid at this point because I bought the car brand new with 27 miles on it and have had nothing but trouble ever since!! aggravation and money is all that car has been to me.

Driving on the expressway about 60 mph my vehicle lost power. The accelerator stopped working. Immediately my vehicle went down to 30 mph. It felt like the gear went to neutral because the gas pedal wasn't working. In about 30 seconds went back to normal. But in about 20 minutes same thing happened again. It was very unsafe for the traffic around me. Thanks for my husband next to me, and his guidance as he is professional driver, I was able to make it safe to first lane.

Car check engine light was on for a few days, then turned off. When I turned on the car, the check engine light was back on, put car in reverse and clunk, while the display where the R for reverse would have been was scrambled, car still reversed. Clunked into drive, and wouldn't switch out of 1st gear. This occurs sporadically. Check engine code signaled transmission range sensor malfunction. There are many other occurrences for the same model year which occurs around 70000 miles.

Vehicle loses acceleration, and doesn't react properly to gas pedal. This makes it difficult to merge onto oncoming traffic and could cause an accident. By reading online it seems to be the transmission range sensor, a lot of people on forums are writing about this fault. This is the second time I've had to replace the sensor in the past 2 years.
