led daylight running lights burn out quickly

LED lighting is supposed to last much longer than ordinary lights, but the LED strips on these headlights seem to fail much quicker than expected. The only fix is to replace the headlight unit which costs approximately $1000. I have had 3 units fail in just over 2 years. Tesla states that this is a rarity, but I know other owners locally who have also had issues.
