The door actuator went out on the passengers side. It was a bit of a hassle manually locking the car every time I left it. But I finally got it fixed at the dealer, as not all auto shops work on locks. I looked up the problem online, and although the replacement part cost $24, it was a lengthier process than I wanted it to be. Performing the fix on your own, would probably have cost you 1 - 2 hours. There's a lot of little pieces that need to be undone and redone, in order to get to the actuator.

First noted the problem when I tried to arm the car using the remote - you wont hear the usual arming sound. I investigated and noticed the rear right door lock is not responding even when using the lock/unlock button on the driver door panel. The annoying part is that this car has just turned 4 years old 26 days ago and have confirmed from the dealer that this is not covered by the standard warranty. They said the whole lock assembly need to be replaced but wanted to do some testing first which will cost me C$160+ which could very well be spent on the new part needed. And the whole lock assembly is more than C$500+ plus labor of course. I checked in the T4R.org forum and there don't seem to be many similar problem in the 4-year-old range so I must be really "lucky". Anyway, the good thing is you don't really need to replace the whole lock assembly as the small actuator motor inside (see pic) can be replaced for $6 a piece on eBay (FC280 Mabuchi motor). When I opened mine, I saw that the motor in there is made from China!!?. Anyway, the other rear door is also acting up so I ordered 4 pieces and just waiting for delivery. Kinda scandalous for a $50+k SUV that used to be known for durability. And pity to those who have no wherewithal but to just pay the dealer to fix!
