The contact was driving a 2002 Toyota Camry. The contact owns a 2006 graco snugride infant child seat, model number 8643mdw3, manufactured on December 14, 2006. The contact was transporting the child to the vehicle secured in an "infant only" child restraint seat when the handle mechanism failed to remain in the lock position. When grasping the carry handle firmly the seat flipped forward; however, the child was not injured. The manufacturer was notified; however, the offered no resolution. The contact is aware of the safety risk involved. The VIN was unknown.

The contact owns a 2002 evenflo discovery, model number 4791255P1 child seat. Whenever the contact places the child seat in the middle of the back seat, the base is very unstable. She does not like to place the child by the windows and feels that the middle of the seat is the safest place. Updated 02-19-08 the consumer stated her mom owns the car and jennifer romero is the complainant. Updated 02/20/08
