Camry

  • 100,000 miles
The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Camry. While driving 25 mph in wet and icy conditions and applying the brakes, the ABS would activate it failed to slow the vehicle down. The contact is concerned about the ABS risk for his year, make and model vehicle. The dealer's diagnosis found that the vehicle was operating normally. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Camry 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,005 miles
Intermittently, after coming to a complete stop, the brake pedal will sink completely to the floor after a few seconds. This has been occurring since I bought the car brand new. Once the car reached about 5000 miles, it would come to a complete stop, then lunge forward several feet, stop, make a moaning sound, then lunge forward again; all while my foot was still on the brake. I did not notice any fault lights come on my dashboard. It then drove fine for about 10 miles when the same pattern repeated itself again, exactly the same way. I took it to the dealer and they cannot find anything wrong with it, or repeat the problem. They would like me to return when the problem repeats itself. Of course, I?M hesitant to do this since the next time someone may get seriously injured. Please help!

When applying the brakes vehicle made noises, engine accelerated, and vehicle surged forward. Owner took the vehicle to the dealer, and the dealer told the owner that this problem could not be duplicated. Therefore there was nothing they could do.
