Camry XLE 3.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 106,000 miles

The V6 3.0 Camry transmission I was told was a great smooth tranny.

Constant delays in downshifting when accelerating from low speeds. Pulling out of parking lots and intersections can put you in great peril. You have to learn to give yourself a good buffer between oncoming cars because you never know when the tranny will act up when you stomp on the gas.

At 26mph the tranny shudders like it's going to fail and once I get past that speed and it shifts up, it's fine.

Between the tranny delay and the brake issue, why do I keep this car? I'd expect more from Toyota.

Camry XLE 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 48,086 miles

failed to downshift properly when coming to stop. Had vehicle fixed at local transmission repair shop. Found out after the fact from Toyota dealership that service repair bulletin had been issued for this problem on 2005 Toyota Camry. Good chance that repair costs would have been covered by Toyota since my vehicle had less than 80,000 miles and was less than 8 years old. Toyota dealership was not willing to reimburse me for repair costs or to submit request to Toyota for review and consideration.
