In 2019, one of the Value Springs broke in the engine of 2007 Toyota Camry XLE with 3.5L V6 engine which required the engine to be replaced. The engine had just over 100k miles on it. I am reporting this because I found out that there was a recall on 2005-2008 Lexus vehicle with 3.5L V6 engines.

My car burns oil excessively causing an increased risk for the engine to overheat and stall. This defect increases the risk of a crash and could lead to a fire. With research and by contacting a local Toyota dealership, I learned that this is a known defect of the 2AZFE engine. Specifically, the piston rings and the pistons are defective and known to cause excessive motor oil burning. Although Toyota has offered an extended warranty for this issue, I was informed by the local dealership that the extended warranty is no longer valid for my car because too much time has elapsed. I was never contacted to inform me of these defective engine components or that my car was given an extended warranty. The Toyota dealership states that they will only confirm this defect if we pay their mechanics for the inspection. Excessive oil consumption has been verified by our non-dealership mechanic. My car is available for further inspection.

The Camry started revving up to 1500 RPM at stop lights or when pulling into parking spots almost causing accidents, local dealer could not find issue after having car for a month. There is no check engine light or saved codes, I just notice the engine coolant temperature drop while its doing it so its an electrical issue. It happens every other day usually when warm out. I am too scared to have my wife drive the vehicle anymore and cannot justify selling. Hopefully Toyota will help figure this out. Dealer replaced fuel pump but it did not fix the issue. Also has hard starting once or twice a week, will always start on the third try if not immediately.

My car 2007 Camry le burns oil too much. There's no oil leakage on the motor or ground, and it doesn't smoke. I've changed the oil a month ago, but the oil pressure light comes on. How can it pass a smog check, and I'm scared my car will overheat due to the engine burns oil more than a quart in 1000 miles
