sounds & feels like ABS is kicking in for no reason

About 2 weeks ago while applying the brakes and slowing to around 5 mph you hear and feel an occasional clunk with the ABS. It wasn't the normal "chatter" with the ABS. The ABS light did NOT come on. I had thought that there may have been a problem with a brake pad so I e-mail the service department at Westbrook Toyota for a price on turning down the rotors (I was sent an e-mail for free brake pads with resurfacing of the rotors.) with no response. So I had my mechanic turn down the rotors and put on new pads. While driving home the same thing happened. I brought it back and he took it for a test drive and the same thing occasionally happened. He put an analyzer on the car with NO error codes. I have an appointment next week with Westbrook Toyota. Any thoughts?
