I was driving the vehicle and had the sun glare of the dashboard which has completely melted, I was unable to see the car in front of me which came to a complete stop. Given the glare of the dashboard which has melted completely due to intense sun from Florida I was involved in a car accident since I cannot see car in front of me due to the large glare. My defect in the car is that the dashboard is melting and creating a very intense glare which is preventing me from being able to see and unfortunately was involved in a car accident.

The dashboard on my Toyota Camry appears to be slowly melting leaving behind a sticky residue and a shine on 90% of the flat surface. The real hazard is that the shine on the dashboard reflects on the windshield making it very difficult to drive especially in daylight. The stickiness of-course is a nuisance. I have noticed that the stickiness is less in the morning but increases as the sun comes out. I have taken the car to the dealer but they refused to look at it since it is not a part that is broken. They suggested that I have the interior detailed which I don't want to do in the fear the surface on the dashboard will come off!

The dashboard is completely sticky and ruined. Nothing cleans it or takes the stickiness away. It causes a reflection on the windshield and interferes with my vision. This is a safety issue that Toyota should recall and replace! it's very dangerous!

The dash has begun melting in the sun and has become sticky and at times it melts and runs downwards. Nothing will clean it and everything sticks to it and with the melting it has a shiny gloss that at times with the sun coming in has a terrible glare. I am afraid if this continues the air bag on the passenger side could deploy and cause an accident.

The vehicle dashboard has been melting on hot days resulting in a shiny, mirror like surface that reflects sunlight and glares the windshield reducing visibility. The melted dashboard surface is very sticky and could affect the airbag functionality as the airbag cover could fuse with the surrounding melted dashboard surface. I also wonder if the dashboard is releasing any toxic substances as it melts.

The dash is has become soft and shiny, others online have had similar issues "melting Camry dash" or "sticky Camry dash". the safety issue is that the dash is so shiny now (was not originally) it reflects light back onto the windshield making it difficult to see out.

My car was parked outdoors in the rain. The inside of the car windows were dripping with moisture. When I decided to go to for a drive, I reached behind my seat to the rear floor for my paper towel roll and cloth towels to wipe off the windows and they were soaked with water. I took the car to the dealer ship to fix the problem. The four sunroof drains had no hose clamps on them the right rear hose had come loose causing a flood in my rear seat area. I had to have all carpets replaced and hose clamps added to prevent any further damage. It cost $2467.57 to repair the damage because Toyota did not require hose clamps on the 4 drain hoses from the sunroof. I asked Toyota if they were going to notify other Toyota owners of the potential problem and they indicated an answer of, no! I think they should be forced to let other Toyota owners of the potential problem. I have all of the communications with Toyota if you want copies. This is one of the reasons insurance rates are so high. My insurance paid for all except $60.52 of the total cost of repairs. I have aaa insurance. Please respond!!!

When it rains, my Toyota Camry hybrid 2008 gets flooded inside. In fact, I think this started happening about a year ago but it became worst recently when southern California had many big storms about 2 months ago. That was when I could not tolerate the bad smell inside my car any more. I examined where the bad sell was coming from. I removed all my own plastic floor mats. Then I removed all the manufactured floor mats. I found out inside the car had about half an inch of water everywhere except the trunk. Some spots get almost an inch of water like underneath the driver's and passenger's seats. I am a computer programmer and I realized that there are more and more electronic components in modern cars. Although my soaking car did not cause me or anybody any harm, I felt very worried that the water might damage some electronic/wires components and lead to some dangerous accidents. With that worries in my mind, I brought my car to a Toyota dealer for repair. They told me that they needed to "add drain hose clamps to sunroof drain hoses" to fix the water coming down through pillars. Without any hesitation, I agreed to pay for the service to fix the problem. I did some searches on the internet and found out that quite a number of people who also have this problem. I think that the manufacture can prevent this from happening by secure the sunroof drain hoses properly and firmly when they make the car. If they can do that, it might help a lot of people and prevent some possible accidents.
