problem #1

Corolla 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,000 miles

1) the engine does not surge, but fails to slow down quickly when gas pedal is released

2) release gas, and car just continues at speed, revs don't drop until you start to brake

3) going down a hill, release gas, and car just continues to accelerate, engine revs don't seem to slow it down, sensation is like free wheeling, so have to brake to slow down, but acceleration is excessive, and brakes wear out prematurely and rotor warps easily

4) braking against engine revs causes premature brake wear out and rotor warping

5) most cars you let off gas and car slows down, as engine brakes the car, this Corolla just keeps going, and responds slower than other cars to de-acceleration.
