problem #1

Dec 182014

Corolla S 1.8L, 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 86,000 miles

Once in a while the starter pinion gets stuck after the engine has started causing it to grind. I believe this started when accelerating on to the highway, and the engine of the car shuttered, and momentarily stalled, causing me to pull off to the side of the road. I believe the starter solenoid had inadvertently engaged while accelerating causing the pinion and starter motor to turn, which initially caused the issue.
