Corolla LE 2.8L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

I bought this car in 2010 with 70000 miles on it, and ever since then until now (November 2019), I have to touch up the paint pretty heavily every 3 months or the stone chips will start to rust. The hood is the worst, but the A pillar and the doors are pretty bad too. Not sure why this paint is so crappy. And not to mention, my color (sea metallic), is not available at any auto parts stores, you have to order it on Amazon and it is crazy expensive. The car has over 200k on it now so I've just resorted to black Rustoleum on the paint chips to keep from rusting, because the touch up paint is too expensive and it is such a frequent problem. The car has ran like a champ, and I don't care about aesthetics too much, but if you do, this isn't a car for you!

paint chipping on rims paint chipping on rims

Weird paint chipping issue on all 4 of the rims on our Corolla(see pics). Took it to the dealer, they called in replacement rims, no questions asked. My fear, though is that even the new rims will start chipping. I will express my fears to the Dealer when I take the car in for the new rims.
