I rented a car from payless car rental at the orlando airport. After being on the road for approximately 30 miles, the car got a flat tire. We pulled over changed the tire and took it to wal mart for repair. The mechanic at wal mart informed us the tire was unrepairable. The inside of the tire at inner wall damage that he said couldn't have been done by us. He informed us that this tire was driven on flat many times before. I have pictures that show the inner wall damage and it actually looks like the tire was dry rotted. Payless informed me that this was my responsibility to fix. I then returned the car to their company and had to pay for one day with the car. I had the car for less than a day (approx. 5 hours). I am making a complaint because they clearly do not inspect their cars before they are rented out to people. I am so lucky that nothing serious happened to us because that could have been a major problem if something had. They are a terrible company. I am requesting that you look into how they inspect their cars before they are given out to people. I am sure I am not the first person or the last person that will have this happen to them. How can a company run when it gives paying customers lemon's to drive.

Corolla 4-cyl

The driver fell asleep at the wheel, awoke and tried to correct his lane position. Upon his attempt, the car could not be stabilized or controlled. This was a front end crash at a speed of approximately 50 - 55 mph going through a chain link fence, hitting hundreds of stacked lobster crates (like hitting a brick wall). The car was completely totaled, the driver had seat belt on. Not one air bag deployed. The driver side mirror smashed through the driver side window and a piece of wooden lobster crate with nails came through the front windshield and into the vehicle. This caused serious injury to the driver, sever facial and elbow lacerations, and major amounts of glass fragments in his body. The driver was the only individual in the vehicle.
