RV mirror is a di-chromatic type with compass. It is on but will not dim when cars approach from rear. It sometimes dims a bit if a semi bumper rides me. There is no manual dim switch as is on higher valued Toyota vehicles. Dealer tests it with a bright LED flashlight aimed right into the sensor, and then it dims. So, it is deemed to be working. On the road, not so much, or more accurately, not at all. Won't even dim if the sun is setting behind me.
It is a good idea but less than useful if there is no sensitivity adjustment or a manual dim switch.
