Corolla S 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

Battery was dead, jump off and went to get the battery checked out. On the way there the Electronic Power Steering started locking up. My wife was driving. We made it to Battery Plus and they said the battery had a bad cell. To make a long story short, a new battery fixed the problem, no more EPS lights, drove home fine. Maybe EPS isn't the best way to go!

Leaving home, key would not turn, steering locked, could not move out of park. Insurance-road side assistance could not show up for 4 hours! Finally after calling a friend, I tried applying the emergency brake and pressing the brake pedal while rocking the steering wheel, I was finally able to turn the key. Everything came unlocked. Then my car acted flooded, at no time did I EVER press the fuel pedal. Unsure why it sputtered and acted like it didn't want to start. Now I'm worried it will do it again and I will not be able to get it unlocked. What in the world happened? Good grief.

apply emergency brake, press brake pedal, rock stering wheel
