Shortly after I purchased my 2020 6-MT Corolla SE sedan, I noticed that occasionally after coming to a stop at a light/stop-sign, the vehicle wouldn't allow me to shift back into first gear. The quick fix for this was to throw it into second gear & then it would allow me to slide it into first gear so I could get moving again. Not sure why it does this, but it can be annoying. I've driven nothing but manual transmission vehicles since my first car in 1982 & have never had this sort of finicky gear box in any other vehicle.
