The contact owns a 2002 Toyota Highlander. The contact stated that the passenger and driver's side seat belt thread was deteriorating. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The technician diagnosed that the seat belts needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who offered to pay for half of the repair costs. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 150,000 and the current mileage was 170,848.
