problem #1

May 012014

Highlander Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11,432 miles

As I pulled into a parking space (going maybe 5mph) and applied the brake halfway into the space the car lunged forward jumping the concrete spacer in front of it going over the grass onto the sidewalk and into the middle of the street. It happened suddenly and forcefully. I was shocked and in panic mode but managed to get the car turned around and stopped but have damage to the passenger side of the vehicle

I have been a loyal Toyota fan and thought they had sudden acceleration problems behind them, but now I am scared to drive my car. This was not a question of pressing the accelerator instead of the brake. I couldn't have slammed the accelerator down hard enough to make the car literally jump the parking spacer, median and curb and when entering a parking space going very slowly, you don't slam down on anything.
