Loud chattering sound when starting, sometimes shuts off after awhile, very annoying. Persists for a short period after turning off car, so not connected with motor. It must be electrical rather than mechanical. Unable to locate source of sound by casual inspection. Will take it to closest Toyota shop (25 miles away in Laconia NH) when I can get an appointment.
