Can't believe how bad it's rusting just on the one side. Took into dealership and they said it wouldn't be covered by warranty because it was over. I know toyota has had problems before with their vehicles rusting prematurely. They need to do something about this.

I have taken good care of my Matrix, but for the last year I haven't had the time to wash and polish my car all that often. Rust has started to eat at my doors and the wheel wells. Below the doors is a pain because it spills rust water on the skirt and it won't wash away.

I noticed rust spots appearing behind my gas tank's cover. Just behind the cover, there is a medal piece that holds the gas cap as you are filling up the gas, that's where the problems lies. Also, I noticed that the bolts holding up the factory's stock body kit are rusting from the inside. Even till now, no solutions have been made. They attempted to fix it, but the problem was still there when I got car back from the service center.
