Prius Five

  • CVT transmission
  • 10 miles

The GPS does not allow inputs if the vehicle is in motion. Some vendors have come up with ingenious "fixes" costing anywhere from a few dollars to several hundreds and all require pulling the dash apart to get at the back of the head unit wiring. Toyota should acknowledge the lockout as an unpopular if not bad idea, and provide a software fix that the owner or dealer can perform. Being able to add a way point or input a destination while driving is something ANY GPS should be able to do. Even my Garmin nuvi has better quality and performance than what Toyota provides - at considerable expense - in the 2012 Prius Five.
