Prius v 4 1.8L Hybrid

  • CVT transmission
  • 112,000 miles

Around 110,000 or so engine got louder and louder. Around 112,000 went for regular maintenance as I go when the alert tells me. Told them there was a growl. Toyota charged me to diagnose, then said they heard the growl and needed to charge again for another diagnoses. Then informed me I needed to replace the short block for $7,000+. Toyota reliability, right?

Haven't done it yet.
