RAV4 Limited 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 16,000 miles

I purchased my first Toyota after researching how dependable they are and the high resale value associated with this manufacturer. I am happy with my RAV4 except for the fact that my vechicle will need it's third blower motor soon. The car has approx 22,000 miles. It appears that either I am very unlucky with blower motors or that Toyota has a bad lot of blower motors for RAV4's. The blower motor starts malfunctioning when the outside temperature reaches 100 degrees F. I am in TX, and summer time is NOT a fun time for the A/C to quit working. I hope the third one lasts longer than 1 year. I suggest Toyota finds a better parts supplier for this part.

RAV4 Limited 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 22,000 miles

This is my second complaint on the RAV4 blower motor defect. I had the original blower motor replaced by the dealership last July (around 10,000 miles). I am in TX and it's been over 100 degrees outside, the replacement blower motor is starting with the same problems as the original. It is buzzing and the air flow reduces then increases without changing the settings. The highest setting is starting to feel like a mid setting. I will need a third blower motor soon. I have 22,000 miles on my vehicle. Either I have bad luck with Toyota blower motors or Toyota has a bad supplier. It is NOT fun in 100 degree weather to turn on the A/C and the blower motor fan does not move any air inside the vehicle.
