air bags did not deploy after serious accident air bags did not deploy after serious accident air bags did not deploy after serious accident air bags did not deploy after serious accident air bags did not deploy after serious accident air bags did not deploy after serious accident

On June 26, 2011, my eldest daughter took my youngest daughter practice driving in her 2008 Toyota RAV4 (LX) (with only 15,000 miles on it -- JUST paid it off by the way!). Unfortunately, they ran a stop sign and smashed into a 2005 Honda Civic, then mowed down a street sign AND crashed into a telephone pole (hard enough to knock the pole ascew). The airbags DID NOT deploy in the Toyota. There were three people in the Honda - their airbags deployed! Thankfully, all five people involved were able to walk away from the accident. We have owned FOUR Toyotas-three of which were purchased from our local dealer and a Lexus from another dealer. My husband visited the dealership to express our concern about the airbags not deploying - the service manager was incredibly RUDE--never asked if our kids were OK, told my husband there was nothing he could do and that we should write Toyota--so much for customer service??? Deplorable. Prior to the accident, we were shopping Toyotas for our younger daughter - now we must purchase TWO cars -- clearly Toyota does not want our repeat business.

Toyota advertizes their commitment to safety...after crashing into THREE different heavy objects-the airbags still did not deploy (look at the pictures - the car hit hard enough to trigger the sensors) -- is that safe? I was a die-hard, loyal Toyota customer. This experience has been absurd. Toyota is losing it! Their product is no longer trustworthy, safe, and their customer service rots...and they have lost us as a customer.
