Overall, I was pretty happy with my RAV4. It ran great and never had a major issue until I hadn't driven it for a few days and then when I did go to start her back up, she was dead. Wouldn't turn over at all. No lights. No anything. I checked to see if I had left anything on. I didn't have anything left on, no interior lights and no doors left open and I didn't install any after market gizmos, so I thought my battery had died. I had my son give me a jump but when I turned the car off, the car would not start again. I had my other son who is a part time mechanic, come to my rescue. He tested both the battery and the alternator. The alternator was the problem and never should be in a car that is only two years old! He replaced the alternator but the car wouldn't start on its own. We jumped it again and the car started but when you turned it off, having run it for a while, it wouldn't start again. I had to replace the battery as well.

Since replacing both, my car runs like it should for its age.
