RAV4 LE 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,250 miles

1 year into ownership of the car and I started getting noises while pumping the brakes. I took the car to the dealership only to a mechanic to tell me that the noise and that everything was normal. I took the car back for a second visit. The service manager test drove with me, heard the noise and acknowledged that it was a problem related to brakes not being properly lubricated at the shims, but believed that if he were to fix it, it would come back in few weeks and that I should just live with it. I got to fed up with the sound and Toyota not wanting to do anything to fix the problem, that I bought a proper jack and parts and went ahead and took apart the brakes and lubricated everything. This fixed the problem and it has not come back.

RAV4 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission

2018 RAV4 ...4 cylinder...bought it new....after driving 300 miles brakes begin to make a noise like a grinding noise...awful sound. Took it back to the dealer...they did nothing...said they can't hear anything...everyone in my family hears it!! They did not want to do anything ..but admitted others have complained about the brakes! Don't know what to do this is a brand new vehicle!!! Please beware!!!
