I use gps on my phone to track speed limits and my speed and I noticed that the speedometer is too high by about 1.5-2 mph. I tested this vs a radar enabled speed sign to confirm my suspicion. I have been setting cruise control to 2 mph over the speed limit but I shouldn't have to do math to figure out my speed in a brand new unmodified car.
Update from May 23, 2019: Dealer states that [2mph] is within acceptable limits.
