The vinyl dashboard on my vehicle is melting in the sun. I live in Florida and park the vehicle outside. The dashboard has a sticky residue to the touch. It has several cracks and the top of the dashboard appears to be covered in wax. What concerns me more is the vapor ordor emminating from the dash. It's making me and my four children sick. At 87 degrees today, I can't drive with the windows down. And the smell of the melted vinyl goes through the airconditioning vents. No amount of air freshener diffuses the odor. What can be done about this?

The plastic on the dashboard is cracking as if it was slashed with a razor knife. I looked up the problem on the internet and numerous sites have people reporting the problem going back to 2004 models. The Toyota dealer service department just says the van is out of warranty and the cracks are due to age (which they probably are to some degree) but present no safety issues. I refute that claim. If the dash is cracking then I assume the integrity of the airbag system is compromised. Have older Siennas been tested that have a cracking dashboard? my wife's 2000 avalon also has a plastic dash and it is not cracking at all. Neither are my two sons old 4runners or my daughters 2005 Sienna. I'm very concerned about the front airbags and their proper deployment in an accident.

While the vehicle was in motion, the spare tire dropped suddenly. Toyota knew about this corrosion problem back in April 20, 2010 with NHTSA campaign number 10V160000. In May 22, 2014, another interim campaign number 14V273000 was issued. Until today, nothing have been followed up to solve the issue. Toyota's customer service just told me that "until they found a permanent solution for this issue, just put the spare tire in the trunk". this type of shirking responsibilities and aloof attitude. The sudden dropped of the tire would have pose a very dangerous conditions to other vehicles if on a busy highway.

The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sienna. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 14V273000 (structure) and felt that the remedy for the recall would fail to repair the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired according to NHTSA campaign number: 10V160000 (structure) for the similar failure in 2011, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the contact declined the recall repair due to the limitation of vehicle space usage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 70,600.

The dashboard on my vehicle is melting. Even though it is a 2006 model my vehicle only has 59,000 miles. When I reported it to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle they told me that it was because I used the wrong cleaner and I had damaged it. The estimated cost to replace the dashboard cover was $1,000. Our local tv station ran a report that the Toyota's and Lexus vehicles all have this same problem.

Within 1 year of purchasing vehicle new the wheels started to show signs corrosion in the form of bubbling of the finish. We contacted our local dealer and they said it was due to road salt and me not cleaning them properly and I would have to pay to replace them. We took the vehicle back to the dealer shortly before the warranty ran out and again were told that it was our fault and we would have to pay to do something about it. We took it to the dealer one last time after the warranty and were told since the warranty was up they could do nothing for us. All 4 wheels are now corroded severely. Large chunks of paint routinely fall off during washing. I'm worried about safety at this point and plan to replace the rims at my own expense. I've owned multiple cars with similarly coated alloy rims and have never had this issue before. It wasn't due to me cleaning them properly, it's a manufacturing defect.
