problem #3

Sienna LE 3.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 140,000 miles

Only the driver's side door would make a clicking sound as it is opened. The hinge connecting the door check strap would break off, and would rub against/smash into the neighboring frame. Solutions include riveting the loose part to the door, or replacing the entire door (around $2000).

Sienna XLE 3.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150,000 miles

...Nobody wants to fix that so far. I noticed (on YouTube) a lot of people having this problem (Sienna 2004- 2008).No recall from Toyota yet. Annoying noise - not easy to fix.

Sienna AWD LE 3.3L V6

driver's door check strap welds breaking free

Toyota is not only failing to stand behind their product, but have admitted their "ECP" is utterly useless. If you purchase extended warranty, you should be able to expect that faulty DOOR HINGES would be covered.

So disappointed I can't even put it to words.

I will tell every person I can about this, over as many forms of media as I can.
