When pressing the brake the engine revs suddenly and to very high rpms and you have to press down on the brake and/or throw car into neutral/drive and then eventually the issue resolves. Happened yesterday when reversing very slowly out of driveway--was pressing brake (not accelerator) and suddenly the engine got very loud and was revving up. Pressed brake hard and thru the car into park and pressed the accelerator and the engine went back to normal. Very scary. Has happened several times before and fortunately we have not run into anything and the car has not taken off at high speed.

The top hinge of the fuel filler door broke at 82000 miles. It now does not allow the automatic sliding door on the drivers side to open because of the safety mechanism. The hinge broke when I opened the door during refueling.

All underwood components are not only vulnerable, but attractive to rodents. While parked overnight on 4 consecutive nights, rodents have chewed through wires despite attractive rodent poison in the engine bay, the poison is untouched and the wires are attacked every night. To date injector wires, sensor sires, fuel pump wires have been compromised, including sensors for the stability control system, which is disabled. I repaired damage by running new wires, clearing nests and set traps and poison, but now the the fuel system has been attacked and the fuel pump does not activate. 3 other cars parked in the same location for the past 5 months are untouched. Safety systems are likely to be compromised for any person who must park these outdoors.

The contact owns a 2012 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that there was a knocking and swooshing sound coming from the fuel tank. The noise would become louder when the contact was driving at lower speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions. The dealer replaced the fuel tank but the repair did not correct the problem. The manufacturer was notified who stated that the noises were normal and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 836 and the current mileage was 5,384. Updated 2/12/13
