problem #1

Solara SLE 3.3L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

i bought my car earlier this year, with just under 100,000 miles it was actually flawless. about a week after i got it the transmission started to shift weird, the problem progressively got worse and now i find the problem almost dangerous. pulling onto the interstate accelerating to get into traffic the transmission will almost refuse to shift up, then i slightly let off the throttle...THEN it shifts up, very violently. the violent shifts also occur when starting from a stop..i let off the brake, the car goes nowhere until I'm forced to push the throttle a little..and then it drops into gear a lurches forward violently..it not under warranty and i understand that, but i guess i just expected more from a toyota!
