I will try to give you as concise statement of my complaint as possible, however, I have copies I sent to the manufacturer and others that I'm willing to furnish you if requested. On 3/18/21, I wrote to Toyota's Executive VP, Chief Quality Officer, [XXX], stating my compliance with their notice of 7/9/15, requiring frame inspection, significant perforation not found, therefore they applied CRC corrosion resistant compound to my frame. As NO critical problem was noted, I felt I was good until during a later inspection was performed and rated more attention. On 3/29/21 during my next oil change I noted on a notation on an unusual service bill, typewritten not the usual custom printed type, a notation that I have 2 holes, approx. 3.5" on my frame, use caution if driving". At this time I found there was an open class action suit against Toyota. Toyota advised me that since I had not responded to more than one notification I was not included in the suit. I replied that "I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY SUCH NOTATION". As they did not send receipt requested or certified, I neither could prove sent or not received. I asked for consideration based on that to which, was denied. I have written also to CT Attorney General, CT US Senator, Blumenthal, with only the Attorney General's office stating Toyota's response was negative. I realize this is a late request, I was not aware of his avenue. I have Certified copies of each request for help, which I am more than happy to copy and send to you if you will try to help me right Toyota's wrong. I'm an 89 year old male just trying to right a wrong I believe done to me. I DID NOT RECEIVE NOTIFICATION FROM TOYOTA!, If I had, I would not be so persistent. I send my letters CERTIFIED, they should have had to also, could have solved this problem earlier. Please help me, thank you. 1. Frame was replaced under recall due to excessive corrosion, and now it's corroding again and should be replaced. also the trailer hitch is excessively corroded and was not replaced during the recall. I pull trailers all the time with this truck and don't want there to be failure with the hitch due to excessive corrosion. 2. The body paint and clear coat on this vehicle is weak and needs constant attention, and the body material turns to rust right away. This subject needs attention.

I recently bought this Tacoma used and just found out from my local mechanic that the frame is severely rusted and likely unsafe to drive. I immediately scheduled a frame inspection with Toyota. They confirmed that it was very unsafe to drive and gave me a quote of $14,711 to fix it. This is more than the value of the truck. Although Toyota acknowledged that there was a service campaign for rust issues on these trucks they said it had expired and there was nothing I could do.

The mechanic noticed rust the frame was rusty so recommend I take it to a metal shop to get an estimate for re-welding the frame and they are hesitant to even work on it because of how corroded it is. The cab is almost detached from the frame and the support above the rear axle is about to snap in half.

My frame rusted and broke into where spring hanger bolts to the frame. They are saying n was recalled but time has ran out but I did not receive a recall notice as we moved to another area of the state ( Ashtabula) where we bought a shop for our oilfield business then we moved to ( Cambridge ) and are now renting our first home from my daughter who bought it in New Concord. Sad thing is we had it to repair shop and had new steering, power steering pump, new front axles and no one said hey you should look at this frame it is rotten and I have a picture I can send you if you'd like.So it is totally broke into and the spring hanger is not attached and pushed the bed up and the driver nearly wrecked and we had to haul it back on a trailer.

06 Tacoma frame that has rusted through the frame where the front and back section are welded together. Also on the arm to the shock has rusted through. The vehicle was inspected in 2018 and the leaf springs were replaced and was told the rest of the frame was ok. I only found the problem when the exhaust bracket was hanging down, which the weld broke from the rust.

I have a black-colored 2006 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. For many years, I've wondered why the paint on the hood chipped off in tiny circles, unlike any other model vehicle that I have ever owned. Recently, I was shocked to see how badly rusted a section of the roof of my cab was. I checked online to see if others were having a similar issue and found people complaining of this seemed to own pick-ups that were also painted black, and were also 2006 models. The rust patterns seemed similar in every picture I viewed, a portion of the roof above the drivers side, rusted the length from near the front windshield area to near the back of the cab. In my opinion, and based on the pictures of similar instances I've viewed online, there seems to possibly be some compelling evidence of a deficiency in the painting method or material used on this color/year truck. Is there a recall or service bulletin in the works" I believe Toyota needs to acknowledge this issue as something does not seem quite right and that they should address these anomalies in an effort to reach a fair resolution" btw, the rear bumper's exceptionally rusted out too, and the plastic headlight coverings on this model have clouded up worse than I have ever seen on any other vehicle make, as most other headlights that I am familiar with are made of glass. Toyota was forced to give a warranty enhancement for frames on a number of trucks because of rust. The warranty has expired but I sill have the old rust prone frame. This should have been a recall that does not expire, what happens to me down the road when my frame fails" since the problem will not go away how is the warranty limited? this is not right, how can I resell a truck that has a faulty frame" I am upset they got away with out a recall.

The entire frame of this garage kept truck is completely rusted though. This truck as only 61,000 miles on it & is unsafe to drive. The rear leaf spring mounts are broken & have punctured the gas tank. The electrical wiring to do with the safety neutral switch, which is tied into the entire from wiring harness has caught fire twice. Toyota has been notified about all of this, in detail, & they could care less about my own or anyone else's safety. There isn't a scratch on this truck & has really low miles yet is so unsafe to use because of poor construction on Toyota's part.
