rattling from front/drivetrain/propeller shaft when cold

I bought this truck in February 2016 with 39,000 kilometers. It's a nice truck with lots of power. It drives tight and true. I keep it maintained at the dealer. Currently has 72,000 kilometers. When it is cold there is an annoying rattle from the front. It appears to occur under power and stops when the truck warms up or when the weather is warm. I have had the truck in to two different dealers on three separate occasions and they can't find anything. I left the truck with Southgate Toyota in Edmonton for a week and they still couldn't find anything. They did things like was the mud out of the fenders????? This problem is not going away. It may be getting worse. Has anyone experienced the same thing? Did they get it fixed? Is there a solution?

I bought a used 2013 Tacoma and within a month noticed the driveline vibration which seems to be a common enough problem that Toyota issued a specific technical service bulletin to address. The vibration can be felt through the seat and steering wheel.

I contacted my local Toyota dealership and was told that part of the technical service bulletin would be covered under the 60mo/60,000 mile warranty but the rest of the bulletin was covered by a 36mo/36,000 mile warranty and mine expired 2 weeks prior. Contacted Toyota Customer Service and was told the warranty is black and white and nothing could be done.

Really? Just 2 weeks past the 3 year mark and well under the 36,000 miles and nothing could be done?

I purchased my 2013 Toyota Tacoma V6 automatic brand new. It is a stock model with no modifications. The truck has always been driven responsibly on paved roads and never been off road. The tow package that came with it has never been used. The truck has been strictly serviced at the Toyota dealership I bought it from. I drive quite a bit and use my truck for advertising.

The problem I have with my Tacoma is that there is a vibration during certain periods of acceleration. It was first noticed around 68,000 miles. The vibration can be felt throughout the crew cab when the vehicle is shifting from 1st to 2nd as well as from 2nd to 3rd. Initially it would shudder on a slight incline. Now the vibration can be felt on flat surfaces.The truck was brought to the dealership maintenance department where they explained to me that the transmission mounts were probably installed incorrectly on the assembly line. In turn, the drive shaft was inspected and the rear transmission mounts and steering wheel damper were replaced. The repair cost $473.00. After I pulled the truck out of the shop the vibration was still there.

The dealership now suggests that the sagging rear leaf springs was causing the vibrations and that they needed to be replaced. Unfortunately, the extended warranty I purchased from Fidelity through Toyota denied the $2,200.00 repair. The initial reason they gave was based on the fact that I had commercial logos on my truck, thus the extended warranty was void. I took it to the Toyota dealership and disputed the fact that they sold me an extended warranty on a vehicle that I had clearly stated to them would be used for my business. They spoke with Fidelity and (Fidelity) agreed to cover the repair. Now Fidelity is denying the repair again, this time because the truck doesn't have what they recognize as a "mechanical breakdown". Since the sagging leaf springs have no cracks or breaks, it would be my responsibility to cover the cost of replacing them.

I sought a second opinion and brought the truck to a well known mechanic. He took the truck for a drive and noticed the vibration right away. He explained that if the sagging leaf springs were the problem, the vehicle would vibrate all the time. He was concerned that replacing the leaf springs would not correct the vibration problem.

My next move is to go back to the Toyota dealership and express my deep dissatisfaction with the truck they sold me. I've gone online to see numerous complaints about the same vibration issue. According to all of the reports, this problem has been going on for years. I am sorry to say that if Toyota does not do its part to correct this dilemma to my satisfaction I will never buy another Toyota again. Hopefully I will be able to update this post with some positive results. Cross your fingers and wish me luck!

I bought a new 2013 Tacoma 4x4 TRD. Since the truck was new it has a vibration will acceleration in 2nd gear. I've taken it to the dealer 2 times and they say that they all vibrate and there is nothing they can do to fix the problem. Any body have an answer as to what I should do?

BEWARE WHEN PURCHASING THIS TRUCK!

A few days after purchasing my new 2013 Toyota truck and the excitement had worn off, I notice a significant vibration coming from the drive-line area of the truck when accelerating from 0 to approx 30mph. I can easily feel it through the steering wheel and drivers seat. The passenger can feel it too. I took the truck to the dealer, they looked around and drove it. They confirmed there was a vibration then told me that all of the Tacomas have this vibration. They let me drive another truck and the vibration was there too. They told me to drive my truck more to see if it would break in and go away, it didn't. They told me there was nothing more they could do for me at this time.

I have since setup a complaint with Toyota and was given a Case Manager. He called me back and told me how he was sorry that this was happening to me, but said it was a a symptom that all 2013 Trucks of this year and they (Toyota) was looking into a fix, but he couldn't say when or if it will ever be fixed. He said to check in with my dealer every month or so. This is my first Toyota Truck, always had Ford or Chevys before, Will rethink this in the future if this isn't fixed soon.
