The Hitachi shocks can't handle the dampening requirements of a Tonka Truck - never mind a vehicle that weighs over 4,000 lbs. If the road is at all rough, the tires lose contact with the ground and the suspension bounces severely. This is a major safety issue and will increase breaking distances considerably on any road with bumps on it.

If there is any type of load in the truck - say 4 adults - and you hit a bump in the road, the truck bounces repeatedly, not controlling the bounce. All my Nissan Pathfinders, Volkswagen Jettas, and my co-workers cars and trucks don't have any issues controlling the suspension over the same bump with the exact same load.

The shocks where closely examined for any leaks - none were found. My 10 year old son was able to completely collapse the shock with one hand. We sure can't do this on his 50cc dirt bike rear shock with the spring removed.

When the truck has a load - same as my pathfinder - the suspension will hit the suspension stops, sending the truck in yet another direction and giving a hard jolt (again another sign of the shocks not controlling the suspension travel).

There are numerous complaints about these shocks on line - and this is the first thing they are replacing. Not something I should need to do, especially where it's a safety issue.
