Tacoma Trd Sport 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 8,000 miles

I took it to the dealer three times with a vibration that’s just annoying. It feels like a cell phone going off in your pocket or going over rumble strips! The Toyota rep came in, took it for a drive and said oh that’s just the characteristic of a Toyota truck!! Sent me a letter that stating the Same thing. ,So if you’re looking for a truck that shakes rattles and vibrates... the Toyota Tacoma is perfect thing for you.

Tacoma SR 2.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,700 miles

At 45 mph and certain rpm ranges, I can hear and feel some driveshaft vibration. Franklin Toyota gladly told me it was a characteristic of the truck, and I know it's not a so called characteristic. I've only put 1700 miles on this truck. It wasn't doing this when I test drove it. If it had I would have never bought it. I want this problem resolved. I work to hard for my money for some lousy corporation, to half ass build a truck and for me to be told oh it's just a characteristic. It started this round 1000 miles. I carried it in at 1650 miles when I started noticing the problem slowly getting a little worse. I'm disappointed. I thought if you work hard you can have a nice dependable truck. But boy was I wrong. I will never ever buy a new truck again! What a waste of money! I've rode in 24 year old trucks quieter and built ten fold, what these are. You could potentially be buying a money pit. Don't buy a 2019 Tacoma. Anything but a Tacoma.

Tacoma SR5 V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56 miles

This is actually a copy from a similar problem posted here—the 'shaking-while-braking' complaint—that I have experienced with my new 2019 Tacoma SR5 from Lakeland (FL) Toyota. The two problems would seem to be related and I have experienced both. I did not notice this issue on the test drive, which was a trip around the block. But when driving on the streets and highway the truck shudders at speeds in the 20 to 50 mph range, around 1100 RPM. And It really shakes when I brake. I feel it thru the pedals and steering wheel. It is unsettling.

When I took it in for service, I was told it had a warped driveshaft. They replaced it but that did not fix the problem. At all. The service guys told me the shaking was a known 'driveability issue' and Toyota would have a fix within a month. That was May 14, 2019. They sent a service tech out to take a picture of the rear end, to get the number off it. But as of June 14, still no fix.

I called Lakeland Toyota service and they say corporate told them they do not yet have an answer. They are 'working on it.' That was it, over-and-out. So now I am stuck with a truck I hate to drive and whose mechanical integrity is getting compromised every time I make a trip.
