Beetle GLS

  • Automatic transmission

Earlier this year, the driver's window would not go back up to close. New regulator assembly needed. Now, three months later, the same thing with the passenger window. Each repair cost $400.

Beetle GLS 3.0L

  • Manual transmission
  • 89,000 miles

Apparently this is a problem with VWs. Was hoping they would take responsibility since there was a past recall. Haven't heard back yet.

Beetle GLX Turbo 8.1L

  • Manual transmission
  • 80,000 miles

It was pretty ridiculous. It just stopped working and my window fell into my door. Lucky it didn't break. My boyfriend is a auto tech and he put the window and ordered the part for me. But there's two separate parts in there and you have to buy them separately which ends up costing a crap ton. Not to mention waiting on the part to come in from the dealership... and dealing with rain. We looked up on the internet that it's been a problem in every bug with window regulators, however, there has never been a recall put out.
