After getting to the 100,000 mile marker. My car begin to have a rough idle from the engine bay that could also be felt from within the car. I then took my car to the dealership in which they said it was misfiring and needed new spark plugs and coils. After paying for that I pick my car up from the dealership only to find out the engine light came back on once getting home. A couple weeks after that my engine started misfiring yet again we're even a worse engine rock. Finally got it into the dealership and they told me it's a bad tensioner chain and also that my engine has been affected by that. I would think they would have known the issue was that instead of the spark plugs and coil packs. Now my engine is a goner and I'm left with a car payment with no vehicle due to the faulty chain tensioner. I believe that if they would have fixed the problem when I took it in then they could have seen my engine from blowing. All they did was did a patch up with spark plugs and coils

I went to start my vehicle parked in my driveway to go to work and the vehicle wouldn't start. I had just put fuel in it the night before so I knew that wasn't the problem. Had the vehicle towed to ase certified Volkswagen mechanic and they ran all tests to find that my timing chain tensioner was bad and needed to be replaced at a cost of $7400. I still owe $7K on the vehicle at this time. I don't have the funds to pay for this. The car has been sitting for the past 3mths. I am pregnant and am so glad that it didn't stop in the middle of the highway on me!

The contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. While driving, the check engine indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to clay cooley Volkswagen richardson (300 N central expy, richardson, tx 75080, (469) 998-4700) where it was diagnosed that the tensioner chain fractured and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the radiator rack needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine failed because the tensioner chain fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

My Volkswagen Cc is a 2010 with under 65,000 miles on it and the timing chain tensioner failed. It broke off and actually cracked the head so that I need to put in a new engine to have a working vehicle again. This is going to cost me $4500 for a car that is not even 5000 miles over the warranty period. I bought this car 3 years ago and have only put 30,000 miles on it. All of the maintenance has been done at the dealership at a costly rate too. It does not seem like an engine should catastrophically fail with this few miles.

I have a 2010 Volkswagen Cc sport with a little more than 91872 miles on it. I was accelerating on the highway and my vehicle began to sputter. The epc light and the check engine warning light came one. My vehicle has had sluggish acceleration since then. I have noticed that this problem has occurred with several Volkswagen owners. There seems to be several different options when it comes to repairing this problem. The only thing that seems to be common is that it occurred when accelerating. The other thing that I have noticed is that this problem is not specific to one vehicle in the Volkswagen line up. This is definitely a manufacturers safety defect in their system that needs to be corrected before it causes an accident. I am aware of NHTSA recall number17V509 (manufacturer recall number20ae). This recall is for the fuel pump module which could result in a no start condition or a loss of motive power while the vehicle is in motion. The epc warning light has the same safety risk as this recall. This could result in a loss of motive power while the vehicle is in motion could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property.

My car had trouble starting that morning. It took about 3 seconds for it to turn on after I inserted the key. I thought it was just because it was getting a cold start now that we're in September. As I was driving a few minutes after, the car immediately decelerated while on the road. That could've been catastrophic. The check engine light came on shortly after and the car would shake a lot, especially at a stop. I did some research and talked to my mechanic and he told me it was a timing belt issue. Estimating $1600-$5000 for repair. Just 2 months ago I had the cel that costed me $700 and a few months before that $500. I investigated that there was a class action suit for this problem. My car has only 54000 miles

Hello, I bought this car 2 months ago, mileage 89000.problem with a gearbox dsg, on the website I got this ; Volkswagen has announced a program to help owners of VW and Audi vehicles equipped with the company’'s dual-clutch dsg transmissions. After a flurry of complaints to the NHTSA, VW will replace components inside the transmission. Issues apparently stemmed from faulty temperature sensors that would force the dsg boxes into neutral, often while owners were driving. VW will replace the components and offer loaner cars during the repairs. Owners who have already paid out-of-pocket for the fix will be reimbursed. The company will also apply a 10-year, 100,000-mile transferrable warranty to the dsg transmissions. But when I talk to VW dealer brooklyn thay told me goodbye, you have recall from airbag. And we dont care about your dsg problem although it was said the company will also apply a 10-year, 100,000-mile transferrable warranty to the dsg transmissions. 1. takata recall 2. dsg transmission, delay, jerks on the rear gear. Mechatronic always overheat. When turning on the rear gear it does not turn on very large engine rmp and then quckly turns on, I find it very dangerous, because I do not know if the rear gear is turned on at all Volkswagen recently initiated a recall on 2009-10 vws and Audi equipped with its high-performance direct shift gearbox (dsg) transmissions. VW said it would repair or replace the components in the transmissions at no charge to the vehicles’ owners. And VW will reimburse customers who have already repaired the transmission on their own. But dealer VW usa sad this is not true / only some recall dsg can get free repaired.

The contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated that the vehicle emitted an abnormal noise from the engine when driving at various speeds. In addition, the plastic covering that prevented air from entering the throttle body had detached. The contact stated that when the failure occurred, the covering was reattached however, air continued to get into the throttle body causing the failure to reoccur. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was informed that due to the mileage the repair would not be covered by the manufacturer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 145,559.

I have a 2010 VW Cc with 63,000 miles. The engine coils keeps going out and I could have died on the freeway, when the car loses control. I have owned many other brands and never had this many repairs on a car. There is a quality control issue and should be looked into. In a matter of 5 months, I have had to replace an engine coil. Both times, I almost lost control of the car. This is an unsafe, poorly made car.

The engine began to stall while stopped at a traffic light and the battery light illuminated. I restarted the engine and continued. The engine failed again on the highway at full speed, total loss of power. This time the battery, check engine and epc indicators illuminated. Vechicle would no longer turn over and was towed to VW dealership. It has been diagnosed that the chain tensioner failed, causing the timing chain to lose position throwing the camshaft, rods and pistons out of sync resulting in total engine failure. My vechicle only has approximately 85K miles and there is no scheduled maintenance for the timing chain in the service manual until 120K miles. It's also unheard of for an engine of that mileage to lose timing while running and that it gave no prior warning to the impending failure.

While driving on interstate at speed at 65-70 mph with a tractor trailer in my rear and other automobiles to my right and left, the car stopped running and the engine service light illuminated. I was able to avoid a collision and drifted to the right of interatate 75. I called the dealer who sold me the car, O'steen VW of jacksonville, fl and spoke with my regulate service technician who advised me that my car had jumped time and for me to have it towed to the dealership. My insurance would only tow to nearest repair facility which would have been tifton, ga so my husband towed to our home in blackshear, ga. I could have been killed as well as others. There was no warning. The vehicle www confirmed to have timing chain failure that resulted in destruction of all cylinders and complete engine failure. Dealer refused to repair and failed to disose that a tsb (NHTSA # 10045560) relative to this defect was issued in July of 2012 prior to the certification of the vehicle I purchaed in Dec of 2012.
