I was leaving the store when I noticed my vehicular wouldn't go over 30 mph. I pulled into another store to assess the situation. When I turned my car back on and was attempting to leave my car stopped working. I had it towed to the shop and they advised me to call Volkswagen because this issues was likely covered under a warranty. I called volkeswagen and they said my warranty would cover it up to 120K miles and to take it to the local dealership. I had the car towed again to the dealership and they informed me that the timing chain was broken and they said my warranty just expired at 100K miles. My car has 108K miles. After doing a lot of research I found this to be a frequent problem with this manufacture. I also found that there was already a class action lawsuit but my vehicle wasn't in the peramiters because of the mileage (ends at 100K). I never received notice of the recall or I would have taken it in to get looked at before the 100K mike cutoff. Because they said this wasn't covered in the warranty, I looked into buying another car from them. They informed me that they could give me $250 for my vehicle. Now I know Volkswagen is trying to avoid paying for this because they know they can make money.

The rear view camera image in this car's radio (model rns-510) comes on extremely slowly. If the car has not been used for more than 30 mins, mostly likely it will take 30 seconds for the rear view camera image to show up on the screen, rendering the rear view camera mostly useless. We have many kids in our area, this is not safe. I checked the internet, there are tons of complains from other drivers about this radio for this issue. VW is doing nothing about it. This radio needs a firmware update to address this issue.

My car shut down while I was driving the car had fuel and wasn't able to register there was fuel in the car and was told it was the throttle body and that my converter went bad. It had all the signs of a fuel component problem. I am told the converter and throttle body damage can be directly from the fuel pump issues.

Fuel pump control module there has been no remedy/repair for either of these recalls and I am concerned for the safety of myself, my family and other vehicles. I am not satisfied with the notice I received stating that there is a serious issue with my car and there is no remedy for it. I cannot continue to dive my vehicle in fear of a malfunction that could take my life.

For no apparent reason, steering clock spring ceased function, resulting in the loss of steering wheel controls, but more importantly, the horn and driver's side airbag. Upon internet search, this is a very common problem, starting at 50,000 miles.

While driving my vehicle on the highway, the computer flashed a warning that there is a parking break error and the vehicle proceeded to stop. When pressing the gas pedal the car would not move. Following the repeated ( over 6 times) shutting down and restarting of the car the parking error warning and the engine light appeared and vehicle once again proceeded to stop and no forward motion took place when gas pedal was pressed. Vehicle shut down on two major highways at high traffic/ rush hour times. Following these incidents the vehicle was repaired by sunrise Volkswagen dealership. They preformed a diagnostic and replaced the fuel pump injection system. The vehicle was returned to me and a little over a month later (October 22nd) the same problem reoccurred once again shutting down multiple times on a major highway. The vehicle had to be towed back to the dealer where they are currently working on another diagnostic. It should be noted that in addition to this problem, prior malfunction has resulted in replacement of the entire engine in this vehicle. I've also experienced several coolant system issues for which I have had to return to the dealership repeatedly. I am extremely concerned regarding the safety of this vehicle due to the loss of acceleration while in motion at highway speeds. Each time I'm told the problem has been resolved, I am exposed to possible highway fatality as I resume driving. My suggestion that the vehicle be replaced was rejected and each attempt at repair has proven to be unsuccessful in resolving the problems.
