Golf GT 2.0L

I had an emissions 'update' and within 24 hours the car reported a fault which required the egr cooler (which apparently is the bit between the engine and exhaust where the problem had been in the emissions scandal. I would be very keen to know if anyone else has experienced a similar problem.
