Passat Limited 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 64,500 miles

I heard a clicking sound when I was turning my wheel and then my airbag light came on. The stereo/audio controls on the steering wheel don't work and I didn't try the horn or other things yet but after reading some of the other symptoms, I am pretty sure it's the clock spring. I have not had an accident where the airbags deployed and I can't believe that VW only covers this as a recall up to 2014. I am a faithful purchaser of VWs and am very upset that this repair will cost $$ that I don't have. I bought it new in 2015 and have taken great care of it. Is it too much to ask that it be reliable???? I don't want it to cost more to fix than it's worth.

Passat Se Sport 4

Took into VW dealer under warranty but they won’t fix it. Keep telling me the part is on back order. It’s been since February I took it in and still get the run around. I have no air bag in steering wheel if I was to wreck, can’t control any of the computer in the car or use phone because can’t connect with out steering wheel buttons. Are there any lawsuits going on over this? Huge safety concerns as teenage kids will be driving this car.
