Hi Pierrette,

Both cars are not worth the money of the repair, this is a well-known issue by VW that affects AWTF60SN (09G) transmissions. If VW doesn’t want to take responsibility of it I have no other option than to take it to my lawyer, VW Germany, social media, NHTSA and any other outlet I deem appropriate.

You ex-customer,

Reference # 160612855 Dear Mr. Rigau, I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to follow up with you to ensure that you received my previous email regarding your request for financial assistance with the repair needed to both of your Rabbit vehicles. Should you decide to continue with the repair to your vehicles Transmission Valve Body, we are happy to follow up with you to ensure that everything went well with your appointment and that you’re satisfied with the performance of your Rabbits. I recognize that this isn’t the outcome you were expecting; however, you may receive a survey over the next couple of days with a few questions about our interaction and my performance in addressing your request. Any feedback you have to help me improve as an advocate is welcomed and greatly appreciated. If you have any other questions about your vehicles, please don’t hesitate to email me back or give us a call at (800) 822-8987 if it’s more convenient. Sincerely,

Pierrette D. Customer CARE Advocate Dear Mr. Martell, Mr. McNabb and Mr. Horn,

I am an owner of two VW Rabbits on which I invested substantial money to adapt them with hand controls.

I do love VW cars and I was planning to buy another one but shortly after 60,000 miles the 2007 started jerking and clunking down to the next lowest gear. It shudders and jolts the whole car specially from 3 to 2 and/or 2 to 1.

I took the car to Volkswagen Kearny Mesa (8040 Balboa Ave San Diego, CA (858) 300-8160) and they confirmed my suspicion: I am facing the dreadful VALVE BODY issue! (see Action Plan and 2007 VW Rabbit Diagnostic attachments)

After talking to previous VW service managers, copious reading in the vortex forums and research in NHTSA I realized this is a well-known issue by VW that affects AWTF60SN (09G) transmissions.

Unfortunately the 2009 Rabbit just recently exhibited the same symptoms which now leaves me with two ‘soon to be undrivable’ cars. One is the backup of the other so I don’t have to rent hand controlled cars when I service one.

I would like to give VW the opportunity to do the right thing and fix my two vehicles ASAP and at VW cost. I am sure that the reviews I found in Consumer Affairs are not an accurate representation of how VW treats its customers.

Let me use this opportunity to also bring to your attention that your web site shows no recalls for any of my vehicles while clearly there is one (see attachment Recall Fuel line RCRIT-10V621-5505) and that I was never informed despite VW having my information (see Warranty Extension attachment)

I will wait week to hear from VW and I am confident of a happy resolution.

Best regards,

- xavierr, San Diego, CA, US
