shut down

Bought new in 2018. I love this car but all of a sudden it left me stranded. Towed it home on a Sunday, then called VW roadside assistance. It had to be towed all the way to Denver because there wasn't a mechanic any closer to me (the one our local place had quit). After they had it for almost a week they called and said it was being towed to Oxnard CA. Another week without even knowing exactly where my car is Denver finally called and said a part was on order. The manager said it was up to Oxnard now, but when I called out there - it's the emission testing facility?? - they said they don't talk to customers. It's been three weeks and I still have no idea when my car will come back. No communication. When it does why should I trust that this won't happen again. All evidence is it is the same problem they did a recall on in 2016, so why wasn't this part dealt with then? I'm really bummed because I want this car to work out but I have my doubts about VW now.
