This problem was not a big deal. The hood latch needed to be adjusted to allow the loop under the hood to easily slide into the latch slot. A workaround is to move the latch with you finger as you close the hood. However, I was concerned that someone could slam the hood shut which would cause a dent in the hood as the latch would not allow the hood to close. The dealer was able to adjust the hood latch.
