Worst experience at San Diego Kearny Mesa Volvo. If you read any of the other experiences from other people just read this and you’ll see why I wont’ recommend to buy or take your Volvo TO KEARNY MESA VOLVO.

My first encounter was when I took my 2015 XC60 for maintenance. Much to my surprise it turns out Volvo does not offer complimentary oil changes after 30,000 miles. I also own a Toyota Camry and has free oil maintained free for 40,000 or 4 years. You would think the luxury Volvo would match BUT NO. My toyota Camry has touch screen the the supposedly luxuy X60 does not even carry touch screen. Back to my story. I took in the car for what I thought it was going to be a routine maintenance change oil. First the person or supposedly representative, possibly did not know I was the owner of the XC60, as he kept looking somewhere else other than where I was. Next he told me xc60 did not have any free oil changes after the 30,000 mile. That was my mistake. I left with my tail down and went on my marry way to take it to a lube location where I was charged $80.00 as opposed to $180.00, possibly more. My nightmare began when I took the car back home when I saw the low coolant light. When I opened hood I’ve noticed there was transmission oil in the reservoir with low coolant. I drained the coolant along with about 3, 4 quarts of transmission oil. I immediately took car to dealer and told them there was transmission oil in coolant along with the message low coolant. When I received car back there was a message in paperwork saying they had flushed and replaced coolant. There was nothing said about any coolant in Transmission. Needless to say transmission started shifting roughly and an not wanting to engage gears. I took car back a third time and they told me there was nothing wrong with car, but they went ahead and re-flush coolant and added additive to transmission to ease problem. Again, nothing was said about problem or coolant into transmission. As soon as I got the car back the shifting of gears became a lot worse and by that time I’ve gotten in the freeway and there was too much traffic to immediately return xc60 back to dealer to let them know problem was never solved. For the 4th time I took car back and was told, did not have time to look at problem on Saturday. Three days later I finally was given the news the transmission was bad. This could have been avoided if they had taken appropriate action to my comments saying there was something wrong with transmission the first time. Again it took 4 times before they were in agreement that there was a problem with transmission. I was contacted 3 days later after was in shop for transmission replacement to get a X60 loaner. My wife told them I was not immediately available to go pick up the x60 loaner. She was told they were going to hold a car for us. 2 day later, I made time to come in, just to tell me car was no longer available. They offered to give me a different car other than xc60. I told them I just wanted the same type so I could see how different it would be from mine having the damaged transmission. I ended up going home taking the bus as my only transportation. I am handicapped so this made my life very difficult. Anyway I was told XC60 would take about 3 weeks to have it ready. I called 3 weeks later and was told it would take another 2 more weeks before they had any news about my XC60 being ready. At that time, I was offered a loaner again. I told the representative the last time they promised me a loaner, they made me take the bus just to find out they had given the car to someone else. The representative assured me, this time was going to be different. I told her I did not want to take my chances given my previous experience. Again I was left without a car for an additional 2 more weeks. This is where I’m at this time I’m writing this review. If anyone is thinking about buying a Volvo PLEASE refrain from buying at KEARNY MESA VOLVO as their customer service is substandard, they have you wait a long time on the phone just to find out status on your car. I would not recommend my experience unto my worst enemy. Please think twice before buying from San Diego KEARNY MESA VOLVO.
