In extreme FLA heat CEM failed. Car would start but nothing electric would turn on including air, windows, dash, etc. I would shut car off and open doors to let interior cool. I waited a minute then re-started car and everything turned. Only thing wrong was the warning light for the passenger air bag came on. Drove car with the warning light on but problem did not occur again. Assumed it was a short. Dealership tested CEM and said it was bad and replaced.

May 2017 same problem occurred in extreme heat. Followed same procedure shutting car off and letting car interior cool, restarting and everything turned on. Again only thing wrong was warning light for passenger air bag came on. Problem happened three times while in FL. Brought car in to dealer and CEM was again replaced.

July same problem again in FL in extreme heat. Problem happened three times and again followed procedure of shutting car off an restarting and everything came on. Same problem of passenger air bag warning light coming and staying on. Took car to dealer and they claim after market purchased two years is causing problem. Radio installed in car a full year after first CEM problem. Radio installed after Volvo radio failed while in FLA.

I believe CEM is failing because of heat (105F outside) and car sitting. Doubt it is related to the radio. Any other owners with the same problem? Any suggestions/comments?

FYI when I took the car into Volvo the tech disconnected the radio guaranteeing it would fix the "glitch". When I picked up the car the power windows, power locks and power windows would not work. Everything worked when I brought in the car and the Volvo tech messed up the car. Both dealership and Volvo USA content to blame the two year old after market radio and do not want to acknowledge Volvo Tech messed up the car!
