Purchased a used Acura from a Nissan Dealer. Test drove the car and everything appeared perfect. After we took it home, the transmission had problems shifting into 1st. Engine would rev and slam it in gear sometimes. Very weird because it wouldn't happen all the time. Took it back to the Nissan dealer, and they said they could not reproduce the problem. We took it to the local Acura dealer and at first they could not reproduce the problem either. We told them to keep it until it acts up. Finally, they confirmed the transmission was about to fail completely. They told us the normal repair cost was about $3000 to replace the transmission, but since the car had less than 100K miles, Acura was willing to pick up most of the tab, and our portion would only be about $700. We let them replace the transmission, and everything seems to be working good now. Acura obviously knows they have a transmission problem with this model. We eventually complained to the Nissan dealer for selling us a damaged car, and they reimbursed us for half of our cost to Acura. In the end it only cost us about $400 to get a new transmission. Kudos to Acura for paying most of the bill, but buyers beware. Acura definitely has problems with this transmission.

Another pissed off Acura owner, due the lack of Honda Motor Corp compassion for their customers! Their greed & ignorance has lost any future purchases!
