Legend V6

Speedometer goes from 60 to 40 to 0 and back and forth. The gear indicator on the dash was flckering now it blinks steady.

Car still seems to run OK.

Legend L 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 128,000 miles

The speedometer would work one minute and the next it just goes down to zero. I had a problem trying to get an idea of my speed. I then started to pay attention to the RPM and compare the mph to where the RPM needle is. That way I was able to memorize how fast I'm going. But what I realize that when the speedometer needle is working my miles do too. If not? then nothing moves. I later found out that it's a typical problem for Legends and that it is the VSS and needs to be replaced. The part is around 90.00, the part is located underneath the car right next to the oil filter. There are Acura sites out there that will show and assist you how to DIY. Other than that? The car has been running very smooth with no problems.
