Driving on city street 1 block from entering freeway I felt a strange grabbing and vibration type sensation from my 2005 MDX. A few feet further the car felt like I had stepped on brakes and gas at the same time and literally stopped in the middle of the street. The car behind swerved and barely missed me. I managed to get the vehicle to the side of the road and called Acura roadside assistance. Had I been on the freeway this would have caused a multiple car collision the roadside assistance was wonderful but I feel that since I only have 70,000 miles on this car; this should not have happened and the locking of the wheels at any speed is unacceptable. The repair was a replacement of the modulator assembly ABS/vsa at a cost of $$1653. I just keep wondering what would have happened had I been on the freeway driving 70 miles per hour.

The contact owns a 2005 Acura MDX. While driving approximately 10 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle failed to slow down. She sideswiped a parked vehicle on the street. Also, the brakes jolted spontaneously. There were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel and no injuries. The police was called to the scene and a report was filed. Both vehicles were damaged. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and it was discovered that the tie rod was the cause of the failure. The contact is waiting for a response from the insurance adjusters regarding the damages for repair. She was concerned of the safety risk involved. The failure and current mileages were 25,000.
