MDX Advance 3.5L

Thought it was just me, But after seeing someone else complain I knew I was not nuts. We have had many Acuras and currently own another as well. There are no problems with the seating on it but the 2016 MDX is horrible to a point that I just don't want to drive the vehicle. The seat slopes so bad and the front goes up causing extreme extensive lower back and hip pain. I can't deal with it. I just want to sell the vehicle not just for this reason. But for the many other issues currently with this truck.

I am currently dealing with them with other issues first before adding more to my roster. I've pleaded with Acura to change my vehicle and they just act robotic by saying we will stand behind the repairs needed according to the warranty and will work with the dealer to correct them. I've looked into the lemon law but it is costly to get a lawyer with the possibility of losing money for his representation. The truck has been to the dealer about 10 times with different ongoing issues that I just don't want to get into right this moment. I have owned so many Acuras since 1986 and this is the first time I've ever had this many screwups. I am about to just let the truck go.

Obviously, Acura feels they are a lot poorer then there customers and feels the loss should be the consumers responsibility. As far as my other issues they are equally as bad if not worse. I was told there were bulletins issued for each of them. I spoke with a tech who said that there are bulletins because this is a way of dodging a recall not letting consumers know of massive problems and only dealing with them on a case by case basis. Seems smart for Acura, but not great for consumers. The only thing I hope that becomes of this complaint is that others see it and decide to look elsewhere for a vehicle. My issues have already sealed my fate. I can't continue to aggravate myself.

I only ask that consumers really test drive this vehicle extensively and ask as many people as possible about the truck

Despite all I have been through I am still going try to and resolve these issues

MDX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25 miles

THIS DRIVER SEAT IS MADE DEFECTIVELY AS EVIDENCED BY THE SEAT BOTTOM FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. THIS PART OF THE SEAT IS NOT LEVEL ON ANY PART OF THE SEAT BOTTOM. ANY OTHER CAR SEAT IS PERFECTLY LEVEL ON ALL AREAS OF THE SEAT BOTTOM ADDITIONALLY THE SEAT IS SLOPED FROM FRONT TO BACK UNEVENLY, THERE ARE HIGH AREAS AND LOW AREAS. ALL OTHER CAR SEATS ARE SLOPED EVENLY, HIGHER WHERE YOUR KNEES ARE AND SLOPED DOWN AT AN ANGLE TO BE DETERMINED TO WHERE YOUR TUSH SITS. ACURA MDX SEAT BOTTOM THIRD PANEL CLOSEST TO THE UPRIGHT SINKS EXTREMELY LOW THEREBY CAUSING EXTREME LOWER RIGHT BACK, HIP AND LEG PAIN AND NUMBNESS. THIS SEAT IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE FIXED.

THE UPRIGHT IS CURVED AND THE HEADREST PROTRUDES WHEN ALL OTHER SEAT UPRIGHTS ARE FLAT. THIS SEAT IS DEFECTIVE AND SHOULD BE FIXED AND/OR REPLACED BY ACURA.

WE PAY FOR A QUALITY NAMED CAR AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN SOLD A CAR WHICH DOES NOT CAUSE BACK, HIP OR LEG PROBLEMS, HERNIATED OR BULGING DISCS AND NERVE ISSUES.

THIS SHOULD RESULT IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST ACURA TO SUPPLY MDX OWNERS WITH A SEAT THAT IS DESIGNED WITHIN ACCEPTABLE PARAMETERS. A SEAT THAT IS CAPABLE OF ADJUSTING THE KNEES LOWER THAN THE HIPS AND ABLE TO SIT IN AN UPRIGHT POSITION.
