The contact owns a 2017 Acura MDX. While driving approximately 65 mph, the sun roof exploded without warning or an impact. Shattered glass fell onto the contact. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to hopkins Acura of fairfield (877-360-1950, located at 2459 auto mall pkwy, fairfield, ca 94533) where it was determined that the failure was unusual and was not covered by the warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the failure would be investigated. The contact was not called back. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 8,500.
